Sports Injury Management
Sports Physiotherapy is the specialised branch of physiotherapy which deals with injuries and issues related to sports people of all ages. Sports injuries do differ to everyday injuries essentially because of the stresses applied to an athlete’s body including their muscles, bones, joints and cardiovascular system. Athletes normally require high levels of performance in both training and competition, which stresses their muscles, joints and bones to the limit.
In order for Central Baldivis Physiotherapy to care for sporting clients, our physiotherapists have developed skills in many and varied types of sports including Netball, AFL, Rugby, Badminton, Soccer, Cricket, Martial Arts, Triathlon, Bodybuilding, Dance and Cross Fit to name a few.
In order to correctly diagnose and treat sporting maladies the physiotherapists at Central Baldivis Physiotherapy will determine the nature and cause of your injury, whether from recent trauma or an underlying problem with form and technique that may have created damage over a long period of time.
Once the initial pain swelling and damage to the injured area has been corrected, our physiotherapists will then help you, the athlete, to strengthen and mobilise your body to achieve your sporting dreams once more.
We will work closely with your current coaches and instructors if needed, to ensure that you can move back into training and competition as quickly and painlessly as possible.
As all our physiotherapists are active in various sporting areas, they also understand your need to achieve mental fitness after injury in order for you to return to full function in your chosen field. We will advise you on how to recover every aspect of your sporting life through the use of our own rehabilitation gym as well as community gyms and exercise groups.
